Hi! Introducing the face behind the camera. I am a single mother to an amazing 17 year old son. This journey of photography started 14 years ago at his preschool when the director asked me to take a few family photos. It has been a whirlwind since then ~
What makes my photos so special?
Quality is most important ~ I take pride in what I do and I am willing to learn more to make myself even better for you. I listen to your requests, I take the time and I do not rush the session. I make sure that I get that perfect image that you will want to put on your wall.
They call me the kid whisperer ~ I have plenty of patience to go around. Do not panic or stress. I will make you feel comfortable during the session.
Fur babies welcome ~ they are part of the family! They act like kids too!
Behind the name
Let me tell you a little story. I was sitting at the table one evening with my family and we were brainstorming on a name for my business. I really did not want to use my name, I wanted to be unique. We were throwing out all kinds of ideas. At the time, my mom was doing a lot of ancestry.com work and she asked me what is the one thing that photography means to me. I said "family". And where does the family originate? "From the family tree". And where does the family tree come from? "The ACORN!!!" Well, now you know the first part.
As we were throwing out names I always said I wanted families to cherish the memories or moments that I have saved in time for them. That sounded really good together, so Cherished Acorn it is, but wait, there is more. I am one of those weird people that likes "CH" names. My name is Ché, my sons name is Chase, dogs: Chex, Charley & Chesney. So it is the most perfect name for my business! And to top it off it has my name in it :) "CHErished Acorn Photography"

All of the images you see in my portfolio feature REAL people, not models. Nobody comes into a session knowing what to do in front of the camera, so it’s my job to coach you! I’ll help you set up each pose and give you little tips to make you look your best.

With 11 years of experience and 1,000 sessions under my belt, I’m great at anticipating tricky situations and resolving them in advance. For example, I know that sessions go most smoothly if I win the trust of your kids first, so the first thing I do when I arrive for your session is get down on their level and play.
